What does the user need to set up “Workshop-Net”?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Local Area Network (LAN)<\/li>\n
  2. A target system such as a server (also PC)<\/li>\n
  3. One NETMAN<\/strong> application acting as the central “Workshop-Net”<\/strong> communication server, installed on the target system.<\/li>\n
  4. A commercial software acting as an order system, fitted with a “Workshop-Net”<\/strong> interface.<\/li>\n
  5. Garage or inspection equipment, each fitted with a “Workshop-Net”<\/strong> interface.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n

The user simply downloads the NETMAN<\/strong> from the homepage<\/a> and installs it in the preferred language.
\nThe NETMAN<\/strong> is available for any popular operating system.<\/p>\n

There may be multiple instances<\/strong> of the same equipment (e.g. emission testers).<\/p>\n

All equipment and commercial software automatically<\/strong> connect to the NETMAN<\/strong> to participate in the “Workshop-Net”<\/strong> session.<\/p>\n

Which equipment may be connected?<\/h3>\n

All kinds of garage and inspection equipment may be connected within a “Workshop-Net”<\/strong> session. Each equipment type<\/strong> offers services to perform standardized “Workshop-Net”<\/strong> tasks<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n

How does “Workshop-Net” work practically?<\/h3>\n

Step 1: Create a new order in the order system of the commercial software<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
\n
    \n
  • The operator creates a new order number<\/strong><\/span> (e.g. 25010<\/strong><\/span>) in the Dealer Management System (DMS<\/strong>),<\/li>\n
  • adds the owner<\/strong><\/span> and vehicle data<\/strong><\/span> to the order<\/strong><\/span>, and<\/li>\n
  • adds each<\/strong><\/span> order position one<\/strong> task<\/strong><\/span> which has to be processed by the equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n
\"NETMAN<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"Owner<\/td>\nOwner<\/strong><\/span> data is approved master data of the customer stored in the DMS.
\nThe Owner<\/strong><\/span> is unique.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"Vehicle<\/td>\nVehicle<\/strong><\/span> data is approved master data mainly extracted from the customer vehicle’s registration documents and stored in the DMS.
\nA Vehicle<\/strong><\/span> may be linked to an Owner<\/strong><\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"Order<\/td>\nOrder<\/strong><\/span> data contains the order number according to the DMS order number scheme.
\nAn Order<\/strong><\/span> is mandatorily linked to a Vehicle<\/strong><\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"Task<\/td>\nTask<\/strong><\/span> data contains the demanded task to be processed at the equipment, the actual task state, and additional information such as operator, starting time, ending time, etc.
\nA Task<\/strong><\/span> is mandatorily linked to an Order<\/strong><\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Step 2: Approve the order in the commercial software<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The DMS automatically sends the<\/p>\n
    \n
  • owner<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  • vehicle<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  • order<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  • task<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    information to the NETMAN<\/strong> after approval of the order by the operator.<\/p>\n

    The NETMAN<\/strong> is handing over the information to the equipment which is able to perform the demanded task<\/strong><\/span>.<\/td>\n

\"NETMAN<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

It is not mandatory to send owner<\/strong><\/span> data and is subject to customer demand or PTI regulations.<\/p>\n

If there are multiple instances<\/strong> of the same equipment, which are able to perform the demanded task<\/strong><\/span>, then each will receive the order information.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Process the task at the equipment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Each equipment displays a list of pending orders<\/strong><\/span> for tasks<\/strong><\/span> which can be processed by the equipment.
\nThe operator selects and activates the task<\/strong><\/span> (e.g. order 25010<\/strong><\/span> at the emission tester) and proceeds with the job (e.g. EM<\/strong><\/span> = emission testing).<\/td>\n		\"NETMAN<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

All the necessary data about the vehicle<\/strong><\/span> and the owner<\/strong><\/span> is already available \u2014 there is no need for the operator to enter them at the equipment!
\nThe selected task<\/strong><\/span> is blocked at all other equipment of that type, this prevents erroneous activation of the task<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Complete the task at the equipment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
With the completion of the task<\/strong><\/span>, the equipment automatically creates the result<\/strong><\/span> data.<\/p>\n

The result<\/strong><\/span> data will be sent back to the commercial software through the NETMAN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The completed task<\/strong><\/span> disappears from the pending orders<\/strong><\/span> list at the equipment.<\/td>\n

\"Result<\/td>\nThe result<\/strong><\/span> data is in XML format.
\nThe result<\/strong><\/span> data includes owner<\/strong><\/span> data voluntarily and vehicle<\/strong><\/span> data mandatorily.The result<\/strong><\/span> data contains all measurement, operational and assessment data retrieved from the equipment during the task<\/strong><\/span> process. The structure depends on the performed task<\/strong><\/span> type.Result<\/strong><\/span> data is saved permanently in the DMS. Equipment generally does not store any result<\/strong><\/span> data.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Step 5: View the results<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The user may view the results<\/strong><\/span> with the W<\/strong>s<\/strong><\/span>N-VIEWER<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The W<\/strong>s<\/strong><\/span>N-VIEWER<\/strong> may be downloaded by the user for free from the homepage.<\/p>\n

The W<\/strong>s<\/strong><\/span>N-VIEWER<\/strong> may be installed multiple times on any Windows-PC in the office or in the workshop within the Local Area Network.<\/p>\n

The user may add his address and his company logo in the W<\/strong>s<\/strong><\/span>N-VIEWER<\/strong> to be shown on the protocol<\/td>\n

Does “Workshop-Net” also support Cloud-Solutions?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
“Workshop-Net”<\/strong> also supports cloud-based services such as:<\/p>\n

  • Cloud-based data repositories<\/strong> (e.g. to collect inspection results)<\/li>\n
  • Cloud-based equipment applications<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Cloud-based commercial software<\/strong> solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The user obtains the access data<\/strong><\/span> (URL, user ID, password) for the cloud service directly<\/strong> from the service provider.<\/p>\n

    This access data<\/strong><\/span> is stored once in the NETMAN<\/strong> during initial setup.<\/p>\n

    The NETMAN<\/strong> then establishes a secure, encrypted<\/strong><\/span> connection to the cloud service for all communication between the workshop and the cloud.<\/td>\n
